SIB FEMALE AFTER-THOUGHTS! Print E-mail

Approximately 20 girls teams participated in the 13th Annual Spring Ice Breaker.  The collection of high school teams were divided into a pair of divisions; Varsity and Super Varsity.  Ironically, one program featured two teams who went unbeaten.

The Lady Phenoms had been talk-smacking for the past few months.   I really dig it when the "walk" can match the "talk".   Props to the Lady Phenoms after running the table with both their 17u and 15u teams at the Spring Ice Breaker.

The 17u team beat Houston Hoops (72-39), Louisiana Blue Chips (50-25), and Dallas Athletic Elite (66-11).  All three games were halted in respect of the Mercy Rule which states "If the margin is 30+ points with 3:00 remaining, the game shall be concluded".  Let it be known, the 15u team duplicated that feat during two of their three games.

The Phenoms were paced by Jasmine Harris (Brazosport HS 2016),  Jakeira Ford (PA Memorial HS 2016),  Joyce Kennerson (PA Memorial HS 2015), and Essence Johnson (Kashmere HS 2015).

The Phenoms 15u were led by Elysia Chevalier (Washington HS 2017),  Alyssa Okeone (North Shore HS 2016), and Alanna Spencer (Summer Creek HS 2017).
