Clear Springs used a strong fourth quarter surge to overtake Seven Lakes and earn a berth at the 5A State Girls Basketball Tournament. Tulane recruit Courtney Latham (21pts) exploded for 13pts in the final period, highlighted by a pair of pivotal three pointers.
After pouring in 35pts during a huge semi final win over Bellaire, leading scorer Brooke McCarthy (signed w/ Texas) was guarded most of the way by long athletic Northwestern bound Christen Inman (game high 25pts/ 10rebs). This freed up several scoring opportunities for Latham, and she seized the moment without doubt.
The Lady Chargers improve to 38-2 on the season and will be making their first appearance at the State Tournament. Good Luck to the entire program, and bring home that gold medal! |
