One on One w/Doug feat. Kendall Hilstock '25!

D: You have been on varsity since your freshman year. How have you grown as a player since that first game?

K: Since my freshman year on varsity to now, I feel like I've built up more confidence and it has helped my game.

D: You're entering your last summer as a high school player, how fast has the time gone?

K: The time has went by really fast, so I would tell all the underclassmen to enjoy every moment.

D: What is your favorite memory from the last 3 years on varsity?

K: My favorite memory was winning 20 games in a row my sophomore year, or when my coach won his 100th game.

D: When Kendall goes into a workout, what does that workout consist of, what are you working on?

K: When I go workout, I work on ball handling and getting to my spots for a mid range because that's a big thing at the college level.

D: After missing the playoffs your freshman year, you guys have made it to the regional tournament the last two seasons. What is it going to take to get over the hump and get to state?

K: Over these three years we've gotten a lot better and everyone has bought into the system especially on the defensive end, but in order to get over the hump we have to be a better shooting team.

D: You know I've been super critical of your consistency, what steps are you taking to make sure you're consistent the entire year?

K: Really it's a mind thing, you always tell me to go out there and hoop and now that I've gotten older I'm understanding it more and it's helping with my consistency.

D: What are your goals for the summer?

K: For AAU it's to win games and for me to pick up offers, and for me and my school team to get better this offseason.

D: How influential are your parents?

K: My parents are very influential, they never quit at anything and they encourage me to not quit on myself.

D: Where did you get the nickname Pop?

K: Lol, my mom was calling me that since I was born so people took it and ran with it.

D: What is your favorite social media app?

K: Probably Twitter, because I follow a lot basketball stuff and I could watch that all day.

D: What is Kendall listening to before games to get you into game mode?

K: Youngboy for sure!

D: What is something you want to tell your supporters as well as your haters?

K: I would like to tell my supporters keep supporting, and for all my haters I know who y'all are, but keep counting me out, it's just fuel to the fire!
