D: What made you choose the University of Texas?
S: The idea of being born in Texas and having the opportunity to play for the University of Texas was something I couldn't pass up. Coach Smart is amazing and has so much passion for his players and the game, my parents is what really made the decision easy. On my official visit they had so much fun and loved everything about the University, so when it was time to make my decision it was a no brainer.
D: How different is it playing on tehe EYBL circuit compared to anything else you have played on?
S: The intensity level is different, the lights, camera, action at all times, every game means something. Everything and everyone is on 100 at all times so any given moment could make or break you. You got to be ready to hoop every game.
D: You guys made the regional finals last year, came up short. Now that you move to 6a, has that changed the expectations for you guys and how far do you think you can go?
S: The expectations for us will never change. Last year was an amazing season and a lesson learned, so the goal this year is to take that experience, remember it and get over that hump.
D: You guys got Collin Warren to come in, How has he helped you on the court?
S: Having Collin has added a bigger guard to our rotation and helped provided a spark to the team. He's another weapon that teams have to pay attention to.
D: How has having a sister who has played at the highest level, and still playing helped you throughout your career?
S: The biggest lesson I've learned from my sister is how to conduct myself and game as a professional and the business side of pro sportsto help me better prepare for my future.
D: Your mom and dad are really supportive, what does that mean to you?
S: Having them in my corner at all times regardless of whether I'm doing good or bad is always a good feeling, to know I don't have to try hard to impress them. Win, lose or draw they're always solid.
D: Where did the name Stretch come from?
S: I used to play little league football for the Mo City Raiders and on the first day of practice my coach gave everyone on the team a nickname and mine was Stretch, so this was 4th grade and it's been stuck with me ever since.
D: What are you listening to before games to get you hyped?
S: I don't really like to get hype before games, I mostly listen to chill songs to relax my mind and body so mostly Travis Scott, Gunna, Lil Baby. I'll mix in some NBA Youngboy.
D: What is something people don't know about you?
S: I used to be a competitive swimmer before I started playing basketball.
D: Do you have anything to say to the city of Houston?
S: Keep that same energy.
